Also known as:Product Listing Page, PLP, Collection Page, Catalog Page, Product List

A category page, also called a product listing page (PLP), displays all the products within a category or collection so shoppers can browse, filter, and sort them before opening an individual product. It is the main browsing layer between a store's navigation and its product detail pages.

What is the difference between a PLP and a PDP?

A PLP (product listing page) shows many products at once as a grid of cards. A PDP (product detail page) shows one product in depth, with full images, description, and the Add to Cart button. Shoppers usually move from a PLP to a PDP once a product catches their eye.

Why do category pages matter for conversion?

For most stores the category page is where shoppers spend the bulk of their browsing, so a confusing or slow PLP loses people before they ever reach a product. The job of the page is to help shoppers find a relevant item with as little friction as possible. Clear filters, fast image loading, and visible stock status all support that.
